Important Dates Informational Meetings: If you have been thinking about becoming a foster parent or respite provider, You're encouraged to attend one of our free Informational Meetings. Facilitated by Human Services staff and Foster Parents, this meeting can help you to decide if our program is right for you. It is a great opportunity to get all of your questions answered and talk to foster parents about their experiences. You are not committed to continue the licensing process if you attend this meeting, however, it is a great way to get started! Registration is not required. Monday, May 10, 2010 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. held at Manitowoc County Human Services Department, 926 S. 8th St. Manitowoc, WI. (Enter through side door off Jay St.) Community Events: No scheduled events at this time. Pre-Placement Trainings: If you have made the decision to proceed with becoming a licensed Manitowoc County Foster Parent, these sessions are mandated for each parent to complete prior to having your first foster care placement. There is no charge for these sessions and complimentary child care is available with prior registration. Respite and Kinship Families are not mandated to attend these sessions, but are welcome to do so as they can help you as you prepare to care for the children coming into your home. Sessions consist of four 3-hour classes for a total of 12 hours.
